Christmas markets in Rome
During the Christmas holidays, Rome offers visitors a wide variety of Christmas markets, set up in the various districts. We report in this article the most interesting for Christmas 2019.
Piazza Navona market
The most famous is certainly the traditional Christmas market in Piazza Navona, a favourite destination for children because most stalls offer toys and stuffed toys of all kinds. Among the many stalls you can also buy sweets and handicrafts, as well as enjoy the view of the splendid fountains and churches that adorn the baroque square.
Market of Piazza di Spagna
In the historic center a small market will be set up in Piazza di Spagna, with a nativity scene at the base of the Spanish Steps.
Christmas market in Prati
In the Prati district, a flea market will be set up in the Piazza Mazzini gardens with stalls offering modern antiques, quality vintage bags and clothes and many handicrafts.
Christmas markets in Northern Rome
In the Flaminio district, inside the Auditorium park, an ice rink will be set up for skating and a series of very original stands where. A carousel with an ancient and very suggestive flavor for children is also installed.
Not far away, in the large space of the Guido Reni District, you can visit the Urban Bazaar Christmas Edition 2019 on 14 and 15 December. Many brands on display: delicious sweets, jewelery, clothing and design.
At the Farneto Workshops, a disused industrial space of over 1000 square meters, which has become one of the most fashionable locations in the city, the Christmas market is back, with food stands, jewelery clothing and design objects is a vast selection of handmade Christmas decorations. The outer part will host a street food area.
In the Parioli area a Christmas Market will be set up until December 15th in the Tirso Event Space, at the same time as the multi-sensorial exhibition, dedicated to Frida Khalo: “Frida Khalo the chaos inside”.
Christmas markets in South Rome
In the south of Rome, we suggest to visit the Market of Testaccio, the district of the “Romani of Rome”. In the City of the Other Economy, within the Campo Boario, on 7 and 8 December there will be stands dedicated to Christmas and delicious gastronomic offers.
Finally, in the San Giovanni area, you can take part in one of the biggest Christmas events in the capital. In the Ragusa Off exhibition space in over 6000 square meters there will be a real Christmas festival with over two hundred stands.
